@E Sport England's Movement Fund is a good starting point as it covers accessibility improvements like ramps, shelters and disabled toilets, with grants from £300 up to £15,000. Worth also looking at Bowls England's Club Support, the National Lottery Awards for All (up to £20,000), and your local Sutton Community Fund. Get Sutton Vision to write a short letter of support since their involvement strengthens any application massively. Best of luck Eric, sounds like a brilliant project.

Hi I am new green keeper of Rosehill bowls cub in Sutton we want to improve our club by providing access for disabled people to use our facilities. Somewhere for the carers and helpers to sit under cover and watch the enjoyment they are having. We would like to install a disabled toilet if possible. We have just some visually impaired people join us from Sutton Vision. All our funds go to keeping club running money as we have to pay Sutton Council we hope that we can show the Council how much this club would benefit the community. I have only just taken over as the green keeper of Rosehill bowls cub. The club and I have no experience in applying for a grant if you can help it would be greatly appreciated hope to hear from you many thanks Eric

I am secretary of a bowls cub in South bristol we want to improve our club by providing somewhere for our supporters to sit under cover from the sun and rain but as our funds go to keeping club running money is tight we have only just taken over the club and have no experience of applying for a grant if you can it would be greatly appreciated hope to hear from you many thanks Malcolm

Hi there, I am enquiring on behalf of the gliding club I belong to.

We having a thriving membership of around 100 people with an age spread of 14 - 93 but we are lacking the opportunity to offer flying in gliders to disabled or more infirm people.

We wondered if there are any suggestions how we could gain grant money to purchase a new sailplane with disabled controls to enable our club to offer this to a wider range of people. We are a community amateur sports club (CASC) but lack the expertise to gain grants for this sort of thing. Any advice welcome.

Hi, my Nephew has been selected as the 1st net minder for GB Para Ice. They have been told they will compete in the World Cup in December but each athlete needs to raise approx £1500.00 to cover costs. The sport has no funding at present. Can you advise me on where to go to get either individual or teams funding support.

Hi I am the chairman of a junior league football club that are struggling to afford a place to train and play games it would be helpful as we don’t want to discourage the children from playing football and some of the children have played for the club for 5 years so it is a difficult time for us all right now thanks

We are a lawn bowls club based in Haughley Suffolk. During lockdown we were burgled and most of our equipment used to prepare our green was stolen. We were insured and able to replace but our sheds used for storage have had to be replaced we have managed to obtain funding to do this but we now need to find a grant to install a modern security system

our bowls club is on its knees through covid .we need a new lawn mower to service the green and the pavilion is leaking and falling to bits.i have been captain for 25 years and play all bowlers old disabled or whatever.We had a young bowler who has gone on to be an england internatuonal.We have etnic minority players deaf players and disabled players.All players play the same number of games i don't play any more than anyone else because i am captain.i do coaching am an international umpire having umpired the world championships & british isles championships.my aim is to get more 30-40 year olds playing to safe guard our club

Hi,
To get back to netball meeting the covid 19 new rules and restrictions, we are looking for a fund of £350 to purchase additional equipment such as bibs, and balls as we are not allowed to share. Our club has suddenly had a massive influx of new people who are so enthusiastic to play, many for the first time since school, we don't want to discourage them. We are currently covering the costs of all the additional hand sanitiser, wipes and other paraphernalia etc that is needed to run the club.

Do you know of how we can apply for any small grants to help towards these additional costs?

I am the head tennis coach at a local casc registered sports club. During the corona virus our club shut for a while and there was no junior tennis. The seniors eventually got back and things slowly started to build.

The down side to this was most of my work is schools work. So I found myself with no income and with nowhere to live I was registered as homeless for a while and eventually found somewhere small to stay. My mental health was already suffering before and I had To get support. So the lockdown was very tough to be isolated and left me very vulnerable.

The juniors I was coaching previously also had no provision For sport for 6 months as they were in lock down and not socialising.

Around 60% have come to the club in the last 4 weeks which has made a big difference all round.
After being in contact with the schools we gave agreed that the only provision the children can receive extra curricular at school would be via a link to the tennis club. This impacts 5 local schools. And around 100 children.

The issue we have is we have no flood lights and with the dark drawing in the whole club program. Their provision for physical health will be greatly diminished.

The back part is also the situation of the well-being of myself and returning to a position I was previously in of being low income and potentially homeless again.

Because of the situation, the entire junior section have missed out on matches and their development. We have costed our portable floodlights as a way to keep the club going and the juniors and seniors going and open tennis during the next 6 months and beyond with a health and well-being session on pen to the wider community.

We are looking to obtain a grant to of upto £10,000 to allow the club to purchase the portable floodlights.

I know in the situation that I have described their are many different criteria and I have documentation to support said situations should a grant require it.

Hi,
I've been in muaythai for 30 years and have fought at a high level winning British titles and a few others

I started my own camp in a community centre to engaged the community and give what i had growning up.

They ain't nothing for kids in the area so it means they hang around the streets and cause alot of bother then get into other things like knife guns and drug crime which unfortunately is happening alot.

I've done this all my life and I belive it can put people on the right path and give people "somthing to do"
It is perfect for socialising and keeping your mentality good and start making you feel good after exercise

I wish to have some help on opening our own facility so I can grow and help bring families in to open it more like a actual gym instead of muaythai club for socialising and to get kids of the streets

I am the chairman of an adult Football Club that concentrates in keeping lads in football once they have left the under 18s and focuses on keeping them in the game by introducing them to full Amateur saturday league football. We have a new 2nd team and were looking for funding to help with those costs of a new 2nd team and we also have a project in mind to buy our own land and develop a local run sports club and join up with our local towns ladies team.

Our bowling club which plays on a Council owned and maintained green have been informed that with immediate effect that maintenance of the green will now have to the be done by the club. This involves supplying and applying fertiliser , moss killer, and arranging to having the green scarified, tinned, verticut and mowed. To do this we are looking for help to purchase equipment that can do these tasks. Can anyone suggest were I could apply for funding/grants

I am the secretary of a community amateur sports club (CASC). We have recently renovated a full time centre of excellence and have some sport England funding. We are looking for match funding to aid with improving the facilities. The venue is freezing as the landlord took the heaters out when we had the renovation. many students are refusing to return until heating is sorted. We also have an area where water is coming in below the roller shutters and following the two recent storms water is going our new gymnastics floor (which is made of wood and sponge). We are also looking for paint with sand in etc to stop the floor being slippery, a lockable cupboard for our sports equipment, lockers for students and a seating with storage underneath for parents to view classes.

Hi, I am the chairman of Coventry and North Warwickshire Cricket Club, one of the oldest clubs in the Midlands. Down one side of our ground is a residential road with houses on the other side. About twenty years ago we erected new netting up to a height of about 35 feet above the perimeter fence to protect the houses from cricket balls. The netting runs for approximately 60 yards. The netting was generally ok but the two storms over the last couple of weeks have damaged it very badly. We are very concerned that some of the houses will now not be protected from cricket balls going over the fence. We would like to replace the entire length of netting with a modern long lasting net system. Can you let me know if there are any grants or help available? Thank you, Dave Robinson

I'm the chair of a bowling club playing in a park in Jarrow. The greens and buildings belong to the local authority and we must maintain the greens. Maintenance of the bowling pavilion is the responsibility of the local authority. The pavilion is in need of refurbishment and repair, installation of heating and an accessible toilet. Are there any grants available for this type of work.

Hi, I am treasurer of a small artisan golf club. We have sports charity status. All the work to the course and clubhouse is carried out by our members. There 120 of us and we have provide a small golf course for the local community. Any standard of golfer is welcome. As we are on farm land we do not have main drains and our sewage system needs upgrading. We are seeking a grant of a maximum £10,000 to carry out this work. Are there any available to us?

Hello, I've set up a new club for my team as the club we was for was not being run properly. I've applied for some funding but not getting any luck. We have found a venue that has a pitch but they don't have the correct size goals. I need funding for the goals, kit and new ball's. Does anyone have any advice as the boys I'm coaching are eager to start matches again. We are located in Birmingham.

Hi I am secretary and qualified volunteer LTA coach at our local village club. We are all inclusive and not for profit community club. We rent the facility from Water Orton Parish Council and set up 10 years ago. In May this year we signed a new 20 year lease. We have two tarmac courts which are not floodlit and we have 120 members of all ages and abilities. From that 120 members 70 are juniors aged 5 to 16 years and the rest are adults We also welcome two schools to our facility every school term week from April to October for children with learning difficulties.
We have done this voluntary for five years now and involves up to 35 children each week. We are now looking to get both courts resurfaced as they are breaking up quite badly in places. The original village club was there 53 years and then ceased to exist as no one wanted to run it. We as a club were operating three miles away at a multi sport facility where we could not get a
lease so we moved in at this present location. The original club struggled as they had no coaching team an therefore few children as members. We have three volunteer coaches and two other youngsters ( 17 years old ) who we are training to be coaches already having passed their level one badges. We have
several local teachers on our members list who we work with via their schools so we have a constant update of our junior membership groups. If you can suggest or point us towards funding opportunities where we would get support with this resurfacing project it would be much appreciated. We need to raise up to £20k in total to get this professionally do.

We are a relatively small team, only 10 members currently, but are well respected as we are mid board against other teams who have double this number. Funding would help us to be able to train and to recruit more members in our local area.

I am George from Uganda -East Africa , the manager of REAL STAR FOOTBALL ACADEMY , in Luwero District , which currently has 140 children both boys and girls who are passionate about foot ball careers. My coach and I struglefuly try to support these children with trainings and to provide the necessities of this academy to promote the sport talent of these children.

But we lack some funding according to what is needed , we would have helped many others but unable because of the limited resources.

I am a member of a relatively Un known sport called Octopush aka underwater hockey we play three times a week in ipswich in to different pools. We have a 22strong team and want to develop a juniors squad but the pool fees are approximately 2k a year. The adult club has sponsored the first six months of pool time and bought some basic kit but we need more funds to one raised awareness of the game for adults and junior club and to help the junior club get developed. We currently have 8 regular juniors attending weekly an appropriately 10 not so regular. Our aim is to grow the junior club and put on more sessions during the week, purchase more kit and develop all abilities and ages both in the sport, over all fitness and conference and bring new grass roots players into the game. Is this somthing that could get funding??

I am the treasurer of Chudleigh Community Project, in Devon. We are a charity. We manage the school swimming pool at Chudleigh for the benefit of the school children and the community. We are raising funds to purchase a portable pool lift to enable us to provide a greater service to those that are disabled or have other mobility issues. We are looking for grants to assist us with the purchase. The pool is open from the end of April until the beginning of September. We have quite a comprehensive program offering an early birds session, a quieter session for under 8's, Public swims, Lane swimming, Aqua fit, mermaid sessions and the pool is also available for private hire. The pool is run by paid lifeguards and volunteers who also run the kiosk on site. I would like some advise & details of grant providers. thanks

Hello,

I work for a Housing Association called Live West in the city of Plymouth. Providing support to 16-24 who have found themselves homeless through varying circumstances. Our team place the 60 young people that we accommodate at the centre of our work, and our main aim to provide our residents with the skills and ability to eventually move on into independent living successfully.

My role is to help residents into education, training or volunteering etc or to peruse any hobbies or interests they have or would like to develop. With sport being a popular interest, we try to encourage our residents to live and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I was wondering if we would be eligible to apply for a small grant in order to purchase some sports equipment that we could use in our courtyard or surrounding areas?

Our bowling club has been without proper heating for two years. The company who owns the centre and the borough council cannot help as it is not cost effective. Is there funds to help provide adequate heating?

My 10 yr old daughter and three other youngsters have recently represented England in kickboxing. Bring back 2 Gold, 6 Silver and 1 Bronze medals. Such an achievement for them. The club they train at is in desperate need of renovation and this does put people off joining as first impression is important to some people. Their coach was also a World Champion and is very passionate about the sport. I hope you can help as I would hate to see the club fold.

Would you please point me in the right direction on what to do next.

Hi! Im a member of our local scuba diving club, based in South Wales, not too far from the Gower Peninsula. The club has been active for approximately 25 yrs, and most of our training kit - which we use with new members in the pool and on sea dives - is looking very tired and a bit scaby! We need our kit to pass the rigorous safety tests before we can use it, and obviously without the kit we cannot attract new members. Looking for a grant so that we can renew at least some of our kit. We are currently trying to set up a new judo club in a brand new accommodation but at the moment we have no mats, as our existing mats belonged to to leisure centre.
We are trying to get grants / funding from as many sources as possible for our mat area and we wondered if you could help.
We have some steady classes at the moment and we wish to move for start of September and expand to include self defence and mixed martial arts.
We also train all the elmbridge players for the Surrey youth games and have kids and adults from all walks of life

Hello, I am a parent of a young dancer who attends a local dance school. The dance school offers a great opportunity for children in the local community to get involved in building their confidence, dance ability and friendships through dance. They are based in one of the local churches and would really appreciate funding to support not only repairs and decoration of the studio but also the purchase of safety equipment i.e gym mats for when the children are practicing acrobatic dancing.
Your advise on obtaining any available grant funding would be greatly appreciated

We are a traditional aikido club in the North west and have been serving the community for over 40 years. We are looking for funding for equipment and other costs so people can train more often without the concern of not being able to afford it due to low-income/single parents etc. We teach children and adult classes several times a week and want to offer it to more of the community and generate interest in the art.

Aikido fosters non-violence, non-aggression and co-operation. It builds confidence, improves posture/balance/physical fitness in a supportive and nurturing environment while teaching the skills needed to defend oneself, should the need arise.

We want to have more people training, more regularly and with all the necessary equipment etc.

Any links/suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am a member of an all ladies basketball club in southeast London. I am trying to raise funds for my club because the demand for basketball is increasing rapidly in our community and we need more professional and qualified PE teachers that could train a large group or small separate groups of ladies within our club. We are also in need of new team kit and equipment for this growing sport. So we are pleading for the £10,000 donation thank you as this would not just help our club greatly but would illuminate our ladies in our club knowing they can concentrate on playing with all heart. We are a small social crown green bowls club in Rangemore near Burton on trent and are looking to provide sessions for school children and new adults. Unfortunately our clubhouse facilities are in need of repair or replacement, especially the chemical toilet. We would really appreciate your advice on appropriate funding bodies that could help.

hello i am a committee member for riddrie bowling club glasgow g33 .i am looking for funding for our bowling club . we are in need of a new roof which at this moment is a wooden one with felt and in very poor condition. and the flat roof is leaking badly right now we are desparate for help its affecting the whole club . members youngsters elderly and disabled . we have no monnies left over after bills are paid we the committee have had a meeting and have came to a decision that we may have to close down this vital part of the club for safety reasons .we are coping ok with what we have but the two roofs are a must we are a non prophitable club we have no money for the amount needed to replace 1 roof and refelt another

It might be worth trying local businesses, or your school's PTA first of all. England Netball. You could also try crowd funding options like Just Giving.

I am a PE teacher taking a number of students on a Netball tour to Spain for the first time.
The trip has come at quite a cost already and I was looking to help support some of the families who are struggling with payments. I only require a small amount but to cover the cost of training the training session whilst we are out there.
Where we are a school I am finding it hard to bring in funding but with budgets so tight I can't get the money from anywhere.

Hi, last year we formed a triathlon club in Hartlepool with the express wish to introduce the sport to new and young people as well as including people of later years rather then just elites. We have now got a vibrant clientele but we lack funds to train coaches so that we can make the club sustainable. We also want to keep the cost to people of lower income to an affordable level so that we can encourage more people to participate. Which of the funding options would you recommend?

I am a long standing committee member of Tynemouth Cricket Club and I was looking into any grants available for solar panels and rain water harvesting tanks to help the club become more self sufficient

We are a small crown green bowling club in West Midlands. We run on the receipts from annual membership fees which means we have very little in the bank. We have to share the limited toilet facilities of a private gym/health club next door. This is not always suitable for us as those facilities are not available when the gym is closed so it is an issue when we play evening games. We would like to find funding to build our own toilet facilities. We feel that our club cannot move forward and attract new members with our existing arrangements. Can you suggest a source of funding for us? Many thanks

Hi we are small group non profit Artistic roller skating club. Ages between 3-15 we run the club from a school as we cannot afford our own unit. What and who can we approach for funding please. Artistic roller skating is not as big as other sports but however we do go to competitions up and down the UK and we have a team that will be competing in British Champs just need help on funding please thanks

Hi,

I am a member of a small not for profit target shooting club in Lincoln and we are in desperate need of funding to rebuild the existing large timber shed that we use. We are a member of the recognised National Governing Body and have already adopted their safeguarding policies for vulnerable adults and children and young people.

Target shooting is one of only a small handful of sports that makes it able for those with a disability or restricted mobility to complete on a completely equal level with the able bodied. Unfortunately the building that we currently use was built in 1956 and is completely unsuitable for wheelchair users or those with restricted mobility. Due to a lack of toilet and kitchen facilities it is also not a particularly inviting place for the current members.

We are trying to find routes to provide funding to allow us to erect a new building that will double the number of people able to compete at the same time and also allow full access for wheelchairs. Combined with this we also need funds to included an fully compliant toilet and kitchen area.

I have more details and proposed building plans that can be sent over if this will help.

Are you able to help us with funding routes?

hello i am a committee member for riddri bowling club glasgow g33 .i am looking for funding for our bowling club . we are in need of a new roof which at this moment is a wooden one with felt and the flat roof is leaking badly .right now we are desparate for help its affecting the whole club and members youngsters elderly and disabled . we have no monnies left over after bills etc are paid we the committee have had a meeting and have came to a decision that we may have to close down .we are coping ok with what we have but the two roofs are a must we are a non prophitable club we have no money for the amount needed to replace roofs

I’m parent and welfare and secretary of a special needs Judo team. In the summer the team took part in special olympics games in Sheffield the team came away with 3 gold medals and 2 bronze medal. The kids have the opportunity to go to the world games in Abu Dhabi in 2019 so looking to get funding to help the kids to get out there . It will be a chance of life time and good opportunity for the kids. I’m hoping that you will be able help towards the funding to give the kids a chance .

We are running a football club in Karonga District in the Northern Region of Malawi. The club is participating in Premier league division that is played at regional level. The winning team in this league is promoted to play in the Top Flight League called "Super League of Malawi". The overall goal of our club is to promote grassroot football by developing young talent. The club lacks basic equipment like balls, uniforms, boots and bibs. We also lack financial support to enable the club travel to other district to play away games and train coaches. Hello, Worcestershire based Fun2move club (Dance Gymnastics Martial Arts & Fitness)
I am using different rented venue at present and have found the perfect venue for a studio and cafe/waiting area for children's party's also.
But currently need the place refurbished with the cafe, stud wall, studio with mirrors and sprung flooring. Some equipment of dumb bells kettle bells gym balls, gym mats, bean bags, coloured mats, music system and hand weights. Aswell as advertising.
I have not a lot of money to start up I could do with some help and advise please on starting and where to look for grants focussing on healthy foods and exercise for children and adults and also self defence

Rugby is well under developed in Greece with currently only 7 clubs nationally. I'm looking for funding to expand the sport starting off with two more clubs with the longer vision of having a total of 15 clubs so that the sport can be officially recognised by the government. Considering the financial crisis that Greece is undergoing now, it is really hard to start off new clubs. Are there any grants available to help?

We are a non-profit organization that works to take care of the environment and help to improve the lives of the marginalized groups in society to overcome poverty. We expect to implement a project to establish a sports area for children of primary school 5 where they played during breaks in order to enhance their physical and mental health. Similarly we'd also set up a tree nursery for producing seedlings of fruit which will be planted around the school for children nutrition. This project needs £12,000 so we ask help on how to get money for implementation of this project.

I run a traditional shotokan karate club, ages ranging from 6 - 55 at the mo, I've rang sport England asking about funding, they blankly refuse to support a karate club because it's high risk? No other reason even explain why it's high risk, so where do I go next, I'd like the club to have its own place and attract more people, by having it open 5-6 days a week, I've found a place but there's no way the club afford to get t up and running on it's own, monthly running the club can support it,

Hi, I am enquiring on behalf of my children's Kung Fu school. They are a social enterprise based in a deprived area in Wirral. They are considering holding a cultural celebration in October this year which would also allow children and young people to compete against others who practice kung Fu across the country. It would be a full day event that includes wushu Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Lion dancing and sanshou kick boxing as well as a cultural display that would include paintings, artwork, fashion etc. We are a not for profit social enterprise and need advice on whether any grants would be available to help us with this venture. Hi.

I've started coaching a sport called "floorball". It's like indoor hockey.

We have lots of interest and several people showing up on a weekly basis. With ages from 13-55 years.

The problem is that the gym we use is very old. And requires refurbishment.

Most important is to have the floor replaced with a "proper" sprung floor, as the current one is solid and gets very slippery.

I have got the price for a new floor discounted down to £40000.

Would this be something I could get help with?

We are a Bowling Club in the Midlands with circa 60 members, our club was built in the mid 60s and is in desperate need of having its electrical wiring updated. Would this sort of thing be suitable to get a grant? We haven't got an estimate yet but I would say it will be around £5000. We open up our club to the community so the safety of the public is clearly a priority.

I'm involved in our local cricket club, and we are in need of some new equipment for our young hard ball cricketers. Our pads are a bit threadbare, gloves are odd sets & the bats & helmets aren't really fit for use. We have 4 teams competing at hardball competitive cricket this coming season. I wondered if you could point me in the right direction in trying to obtain some sort of grant to purchase the equipment. We're only talking about a relatively small amount, aybe a few hundred pounds. We'd even be happy with some good quality second hand equipment that clubs may have stored away that they no longer use. Hi my grandson aged 11yrs is a junior member of Lancaster Tennis Club and in the Spring /Summer months attend coaching at the club once a week. He loves it and is doing well.

In the winter months the Coach continues weekly coaching but indoors using the Lancaster & Morecambe College Sports Hall. As a result of the cost for Hire which is more per hr than the coach charges the club is running at a loss during the winter coaching.

The coach has brought my grandsons group on so well that he would like to let them have a One & half hour session ( at present only one hour) but the extra hire of the hall would make the loss larger . I would estimate the present loss is approx £20 per lesson.

The club do not want to increase members cost too much as that will put parents off. It is so important that children should be encouraged to be active and my grandson does Tennis and is a member of a junior Football club. Help is required I believe for winter months coaching only. Can you help or do you know where I can go next.

Hi, I am a member of a local boxing club near Bradford. I started off just using the facilities for my own training about 6 months ago. After a few trainers came in and dropped out I was asked to fill in and take a couple of boxing classes, coaching youngsters from the age of 13 to 18. I really enjoy doing this and do it on a voluntary basis. I would like to do official coaching qualifications to expand my knowledge but do not have the funds to pay for this. The club is a great asset to the community in a fairly deprived area and relies on people like me and the club manager dedicating our time. Would it be possible to apply for funding towards a coaching qualification?

Hi I have set up a very small scale preschool gymnastics club. Fully qualified and insured where I do all the admin and coaching. I rent the gym hall. Equipment purchased has all been provided by myself. First term has been a huge success with a waiting list in place due to the demand. The classes I offer are from 18mths up to 5yrs with a desire to develop to offer a 4-6yr old session in the near future. A sports club my child attends in a very run down area is under threat of losing the use of the premises they've been at for 25 years. While very sad, it's not ideal anyway & could be a great opportunity to move to better suited premises, expand the service provision & welcome many more children.

My question is are there any larger grants available for building purchase and/or adaptation?

We are looking to purchase an aerator for our lawn bowls green. we applied to Sportswales who refused our application on the grounds that it was maintenance equipment we were asking for. Our reason was that a new aerator would speed up the green and get rid of the heavy factor of the green, which in turn would help older and younger members when bowling because the heavy factor would have gone.
Please could you advise a welsh bowling club where they could access a grant for maintenance equipment which we can offer £2000 towards its final cost of £5900.

Hi, my children attend a boxing club that is run entirely out of the trainers pocket minus the small fee we pay for each training session. The trainer pays for most things himself. The club is reasonably new. Is there any funding available to help the coach who just wants to help children get fit and off of the streets.

we are a martial arts club based in peterborough and are looking to seek in buying more equipment for out martial arts centre and buying equipment to benefit some of our students. I teach many people in my club including adults and children with disabilities and some equipment that We could use to help them but we Idon't have the money for. We also teach many children and adults with special needs for example, learning difficulties, behaviour problems and even people in wheelchairs and deaf students. We teach children to stay off the streets and have a anti bullying program I show my students. I love teaching at the club and working with so many different students. My dad the owner has been teaching for 30years and been training for around 40 and I have been teaching for around 6years and training for 17years. We. Would like to do a lot more with our centre and a help with funding would be very much appreciated.

The problem we have is disabled access as we are based within a large converted industrial mill. We would love our activities to be available to all and wondered if there are any grants available to support the installation of a lift?

Sport England or Sport Scotland (you've not said where you live), may also be able to help. It might also be worth asking local businesses for sponsorship etc. You could also try the England Golf trust grants and bursaries page . Good luck!

My younger brother (11 years old) a UK citizen, has been competing in a number of golf competitions! He has a handicap of 11. He has recently taken part in a European championships in Scotland. Coming 15th out of over 70 competitors from around the world. He has now qualified for the world championships in North Carolina in July. He previously qualified for the world championships last year but due to finance expenses was unable to attend. I am looking into ways of sponsorships for him to enable him to continue to compete and progress further. To achieve this, any advice would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks

I am registered disabled and have been voted on to my local sports and social club committee.
We run football , cricket , bowls and pentanque , chess and crib teams . We have darts snooker and pool facilities and are used my the local community for many readons including slimming world and male voice choir.
Access to the first floor is impossible to get at if you are wheelchair bound and I was wondering where we could get advice from to have a lift fitted and also have more accessible routes to the sports facilities. Thanks

We are a community group in Earlsheaton, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. We are a majorette troupe with approximately 50 members ranging from 2 years of age to 36 years old of which are both males and females. We are trying to obtain funds/grants for competition entry, uniforms and equipment I.e. Pom poms and batons. Our members pay weekly subs but this only just pays the rent. We are a sports and social club and have 1 adult and 1 youth football team, 2 male darts teams and 1 ladies darts team, a pool team, a pigeon section and a bowls section.

We are an aging building and try to maintain decor etc, but our heating system and cha fining rooms/showers are in a sad state and the boiler is not efficient. Money is tight, any suggestions who we could contact regarding a grant for boiler/heating and showers? Thanks

I am looking for funding for a club that currently has a number of bowling teams also entertains a bowling tournament every year, darts and pool teams as well. It needs a new roof and needs work doing to the actual building also. Families are allowed in at anytime. Im just looking for some advice on any funding streams out there that could possibly help the club as if a new roof and the buildings are not improved in the next year the club could possibly close which would mean the sports clubs and community will not be able to use the facilities and to host other teams which would be a shame for the players and the families that come into the club to spend some family time as well as host sports league games too.

In common with Woody 101, we are a community sports federation looking to build a sports hub to cater for existing sports, cricket, football, rugby, tennis, bowls and also new ones that are using older facilities. We need to purchase a 10 hectare site, build a clubhouse, lay pitches, add 3G if possible. Benefits are clear, reduced crime, community participation, physical and mental health. I'd like to add a 25m pool to replace our now closed 10 metre learner pool. We are a growing community of 6,000 with a catchment to double that. We have a site in mind but because of the many sports there's no one point of contract! Any ideas - perhaps the £200 community project grant would be a good place!

I am at the initial stages of drawing up a project to build an entirely new clubhouse, to cater for cricket, rugby and football clubs of all ages. The club is based in Doncaster and the village alone has 14,000 residents, with many many more within easy reach. Our current cricket pavillion is beyond repair and on the verge of being unsusable, and a new facility to cater for all sports on the Village Welfare Playing Fields (current location) would be better for the community than simply renovating the current pavillion. A new facilty will increase participation in sport in the area dramatically. Who can we get in touch with at this stage?

I am setting up a under 15 section at my local indoor bowls club. I am a level 2 coach and would like to real push this forward. I am looking at writing long term player development and would love to eventually make the club an academy for the under 15. I am looking for a grant that will enable me to purchase club shirts for the children as at the minute the club only sell adult shirts and to be honest the kids look a little silly in shirts that are more like dresses. The club are unable to afford making the purchase of these shirts so looking at funds to do it myself.

I am a committee member to a bowling club,that has to take over the pavilion ourselves this year,as our local council cannot fund it,so we have to lease the building and green off them.Four bowling teams use this,they comprise of an all ladies team,a gentlemans team,a old age pensioners team,and a mixed team.We all contribute with our subs,but need the pavilion updated with double glazing windows and door,as it has old metal ones,single glazed,but the building is freezing,as there is no heating.Can you recommend what or who I can ask for any funding please?.

We are a football and social club in Buckingham run by volunteers . We have been given the option to buy the land to secure it as a sports and social club for future generations so developers can't get hold of it. We have been asked for £120000 however though this seems a small amount for what we are securing as a none profit making club raising these funds all on our own seems impossible. I was wondering if this would be something you would look at. Buckingham Town was taken over by developers some years ago and we are fee only existing club within the town that has an u18 team reserves and 1st team. Kind regards Annmarie Carter

Depending on the type of shooting you are involved in, it might be worth trying British Shooting or the the British Association for Shooting and Conservation to see if they can offer any support. Try also, local businesses and general sports organisations like Sport England.

Hi,
I'm a parent at a local rugby club which has over 400 children aged between 5-17 .We are trying to raise money to improve the condition of the pitches which continually get waterlogged during winter months meaning that the children aren't even able to train and have to make use of local sports halls and schools etc to train .
Any ideas where we can apply for funding to improve drainage and redesign pitches? The club literally has no money for this and all the people there are volunteers .The club is not currently set up as a charity.

Try your local sports organisations and providers such as Merseyside Sports Partnership it might be worth contacting local boxing clubs and the maybe the British Boxing Association/GB boxing to see if there's any support available. You might also want to look at sponsorship for the programme from local businesses.

We are a non profit making private members sports club, with croquet, cricket, bowls, tennis hockey most of the sections have kids groups and are thrieving, inside of our clubhouse is looking quite dowdy, carpets are threadbear, walls need decorating and the furniture is all tatty, we need to make it more welcoming for all our members and guests to come and enjoy the facilities and be able to have a pint and a meal, the changing rooms all need a lick of paint and new flooring, and we are hoping to develop the upstairs area into a café section? so will need new table and chairs for this as well. The roof has been patched repaired over the years so this does need a good look at, and all the windows are singled glazed, so we are looking to replace these with double glazed windows, this past twelve months we have replaced the Club boiler, and replaced all the equipment in the main kitchen, (the cooker was condemed last year,) new cooker, venting system, units etc. we also created a smaller kitchen upstairs for sports tea's etc. We would like any help and advise please as to where/whether we could obtain a grant to help with the costings of this project.

Hi im a parent to my son who plays roller hockey for a team called blackhawk's Juniors in Rotherham South Yorkshire. we are very lucky to have a skating rink close by where they train and have monthly matches at the rink. It is a very active and competitive sport and the kids love it. we have teams that travel hours to be there for match days. Unfortunately our recent match day had to be cancelled due to water leaking through the roof on to the rink and making it un safe for the kids to play on. The kids was very disappointed as you can imagine. We would really like some help with funding to repair this roof so we can continue to have this great facility for our kids Hockey Matches. thankyou for your time i really hope you can help in anyway with our problem.

Hi, I am a member of my local rugby club committee based in South Wales who have been running almost 125 years. We are looking to improve current club facilities such as the changing rooms and training areas. We would love to achieve an all purpose weather 3G pitch in order to accommodate al teams in all conditions.
We currently have teams from under 6 all the way through to a youth team and 2 senior teams. There is a local school about 500 yards from our club who I'm sure would also utilise the facilities.
Can you recommend any grants we may think about applying for?

Hi, I am chairing a steering group attempting to secure funds for a Bowls Club to renew its ailing Clubhouse & Storage facilities . We have 6 rinks, a growing membership currently at 65 in number, and do all our own maintenance. The club is 115 years old, we own the site and are looking for grants towards estimated costs of £80000 to £100000. We would be able to provide at least £10000 of this from our own development fund. Would appreciate any guidance of where to start on our quest.

we have already contacted the the chair man of our rugby and because of the demand from other larger clubs they can not grant us any money at the moment we have never asked for a grant before we have always paid for kit and equipment through sponsors and bag packing events ect organised by us parents the council have said we can put a new cabin with the facilities we need but we have to pay for it and the money raised by sponsors and events isn't enough :(

we a small community kids rugby team we have two teams both with 16 players in each team u7s u11s only We are non profit making, all money goes back into the club for equipment and kits.
In the last 12 months we have had to move our both training and match locations due to local council closing the site down to save money hence why we have only two teams left as other age groups left
we have tried to relocate for the third time but unfortunately we don't have the facilities for the kids to change,shower and to present awards after each home game we don't have a kitchen either the cabin we have on the field is due to close by the council again as its unsafe we would like just a little bit of funding r any help to have a new cabin built that can cater for the clubs needs and hopefully we can be a proper rugby club again.
we r running out of options to keep our teams playing.

I am also looking for funding for a replacement mower. Sports England WILL NOT fund replacement machinery which is rather sad because replacement of mowers which become "unfit for purpose", is an essential facility which will continue the bowlking green to continue, flourish and attract new bowlers. The condition of the green is paramount for success !!

We are a small bowls club in Cheshire with a membership of approx. 50 mainly seniors but with a few juniors we are trying to encourage. Our current mower for the green is at least 30 years old and will not survive another year. We need £4500 to replace it. Our fund raising efforts raise very little but if we cannot obtain a new mower we may have to close our green next year. We are a small village martials arts club. We are non profit making, all money goes back into
the club for equipment. Our present premises are now getting too small to be able to train effectively. We have some very good young fighters in the club but because of size restraints and the fact that the premises also host many other events we cannot get the best out of them. To get the training they need they have to travel to other clubs to train which is not ideal. We have located another premises that fulfills our needs but there are obbviously costs involved. We have placed the deposit on this unit but this has taken a large portion of our funds. We need to buy more equipment as our club is growing fast. Children from as young as 3 yrs participate with no upper age limit. It is very friendly and everyone helps. We are trying to raise money from tombolas and bike rides and demonstrations. We do the demo's for free as an advert for the club. Any ideas would be truly welcome.

Hello, I am a committee member of a non-profit making Judo Club in the North East of England. We have member ranging from 4yrs to 70yrs. The premises we are currently in need substantial renovation. Estimates are around the £6000 to £8000 mark. Would we be eligible for any funding to help with the repairs or alternatively, if we found another suitable location, funding to turn this into a long term home.

We are a small but successful bowling club in west wales that has just celebrated 60 years.

We are currently play on a county council run green.

Very soon we will find ourselves maintaining the green etc ourselves when the park is given back to the town.

When this happens we will be looking for a mower and other tools to do the maintenance work ourselves.

With limited funds, we were wondering are there any grants available to help with the purchase of the mower.

Hi, I am chairman of the local Rugby Club and we have recently bought the house next door to our clubhouse with the idea of turning the ground floor into a dining room for our players after club matches as the clubhouse we have now is too small for the players to sit down to have their meal. We also plan to convert the upstairs into accommodation for our steward, as at the moment he has to travel over 16 miles to work which is not a good idea especially at the end of a hard day. Is there a grant available for this idea?

Hi we are a non profit making sports and social club, some of the sections have received grants for facilities this year, is there a grant facility for the clubhouse, members bar, toilets, shower areas, roof problems, general maintenance of the club, we do try and keep on top of things, but with the currant climate, people are still using the Club and facilities but they do not spend their money like they used to.
We are having our heating problem resolved in the next week or two, at a cost of £5000.00 which with everything else to pay out will leave the Club with little money for anything else. We hope you can guide us in the right direction or help with our situation. Thank you

Hi, I'm a preschool manager and I'm looking into starting kids aerobics and fitness club. Where I live obesity is a huge problem and I would like to tackle that by offering health and fitness club for children ages between 5 and 13 years old. My club will run in deprived areas and the parents are encouraged to join in too. There's a huge need for this club and with help from yourselves this will be possible.
The children need to be made aware of the danger of obesity and laziness and be made to get out there Lear and exercise.
I have a big plan in place and currently looking for sponsors, grants etc to make sure this much needed club takes place.

Hi, my husband and myself voluntarily run a non funded non profit childrens cycle speedway club in south wales uk, at present we dont have access to running water or mains electricity so we rely on the use of water urns and a generator for our clubs facilities,we dont have a toilet and aswell as having female riders we hold some of the biggest cycle speedway race competitions in britain and train upto 3 times a week at the club so as you can imagine its not very practical for us and not nice for our young girls especially when needing the toilet. we have helped 2 of our young riders to become welsh champion title holders and one of our riders has just represented wales in the world championships in australia they deserve to have use of basic facilities whilst training hard at their chosen sport. We want to get connected to mains electric and to the mains water supply,we are based literally an arms length from the mains electricity pylon and the water pumping/treatment station that cover our local area so we thought it wouldnt be too difficult to do, but as we are a non funded non profit club we are on a tight budget.There are grants that we can apply for to get the actual installation done but we are really struggling with the mounting upfront application costs the water company alone want £150 up front just for us to apply for a job quote thats before anything else like the actual application process,work and installation costs. It seems like the process to get a quote for electricity installation is more or less going the same way aswell if not even more expensive as we are a voluntarily run childrens club is there any advice you can give us on the cheapest ways to go about this process to get the applications and initial quotes done and successfully achieve our goal of getting the much needed facilities we need

We are a self sufficient small bowling club,Last year we also had to repair the large grass cutter at the cost of approx £5,500.After all the storms & rain, fences went adrift & rain leeked in places our small kitchen is in need of repair . In the past members have helped,Most of our members are now of a senior age and their only type of
leisure time.unfortunately this is one job we are unable to fund.

We are a social and league table tennis club. membership of 40. On the social side. the bulk of members are age between 65 and 80. Our Club hut badly needs a new roof. The roof is partially constructed of asbestos and we have been told the cost to dismantle and get asbestos removed Is approx £6500. We have 2 options. They are
a) Replace roof b) Replace hut
We are experiencing problems getting written quotes. Verbal quotes for replacement vary between £15000 and £25000 excluding asbestos removal.
Cost for replacement will be £100,000 plus .At present we have dismissed this option.

I run an Amateur boxing club and we are struggling to keep up with the costs of
running this 22 year old club. We are a registered charity and have always in the past funded ourselves. However with a lot of our sponsors going into receivership and living in an area of high unemployment we cannot meet the demands of this large club. We are successful and want to continue with good work we do to keep young men and women of street corners and focus themselves in this amazing sport. All coaches give their time free of charge and are trained and dedicated.
We are looking for funding to pay our rent for the whole year so we can afford to cope with other costs.
Our yearly rent is £3,000 and your help would be greatly appreciated.

We currently have two single composting toilets inside the club, which are basic, not attached to the mains sewer system, very uninviting for many, difficult for Juniors to use and totally impossible for disabled archers with mobility difficulties to use.

We hold regular fundraising activities (Fish & Chip Suppers etc) which bring in small amounts of money. We have what is considered to be one of the best Bowling Greens in Leicestershire, but we now find ourselves in a difficult position in that we have to renew our green surrounds and ditches.(The present wood surrounds have been in situ for about 50 years and have almost completely rotted through. We have made enquiries about preformed ditch channels in either concrete or Plastic which would cost between £25,000 and £27,000 but we would be unable to finance this ourselves. Hi, I am looking for grants/funding to improve the facilities at Nefyn Football Club, Gwynedd, North Wales.
We offer football to seniors and juniors, but the facilities desperately need improving, including toilet facilities, ground security, building re-pebble dashing, new windows, etc
Although a small club we have five teams playing football here 2 senior and 3 junior.
We try to offer the best we can but are finding it difficult to renew 'what we have'
if you can offer any assistance it would be very helpful.
The amount compared to some clubs is really the basic amount .

Hello, I am looking for funding to regenerate and enhance a local pond with a view to coachng angling to schools and community groups.
Included in the project is the building of a dipping pond.
Project costs are estimated at £100,000 in total but this can be broken down into smaller amounts to fund specific parts of the scheme.
Any help with advice on where to apply for funding would be greatly apprecieated.

My name is Chonte' DuBose and I am the coach for the Hi-liters track team in the Bronx, NY. I have 40 girls that range from the ages of 6-14. This is the only track team in the neighborhood. In which the girls are learning about sisterhood,competing. It is also keeping them off the streets.

Hi,
I run a Karate Club around chester and flintshire and we are looking to move into a full time premises. 10 classes will be reloated to 1 full time and dedicated location for training. Whilst we can get the full time place up and running we are really going to find get funds for mats mirrors and other equiptment a real challange and so are hoping to find some sort of funding to help us make the classes a success.
any help putting us in the right direction would be greatly apprechiated.
